Upfor adventure?

You may see these amazing places on Animal Planet or Discovery Channel, but you cannot touch them through your TV. Visit Khao Sok national park for the real experience. The park, a four-hour drive from Phuket, is a great place to see the diversity of exotic flora and fauna as well as local landscape: breathtaking mountain views, cliffs covered with emerald green trees, caves with large stalactites and stalagmites, rapid rivers flowing into the jungle, crystal clear lakes and mighty waterfalls.

The park covers a total area of 739 square kilometres of rainforest, typical of southern Thai regions. Khao Sok is among the oldest and richest in exotic flora and fauna of national parks in the world, so if you do not dare to visit the Amazon evergreen rainforest, Khao Sok is a safer and equally delightful option. Why not swap yet another day on the sunny beach for a thrilling adventure of your lifetime? You have probably heard that this area is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand, so take a two-day tour and visit the most spectacular places in your vicinity: Khao Sok national park and Krabi province.

Day 1 in Khao Sok starts with rafting down the river then walking through the jungle to stop at one of the local waterfalls – elephants, monkeys and turtles included. You spend the night at the hotel, where houses resemble a traditional Thai village. Be ready for an early rise to travel to Railay and Ao Nang beaches, followed by a visit to the Princess Cave for great views and  several Buddhist temples, the Tiger Cave Temple among them. The Tiger Cave Temple is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in this province. If you take the 1237 steps to the summit, your efforts will be rewarded by the splendid panorama of Krabi from, perhaps, the best skydeck in the province.

The Khao Sok tour allows you to visit Suwanakuha – the famous Buddhist temple in a large cave, inhabited by monkeys and bats. An enormous reclining Buddha statue rests in the company of macaque monkeys, who mill around waiting for food. You can repay their patience by offering them nuts and bananas, which they will gladly accept.

To add an extra romantic touch to your journey, try canoeing or rafting on an authentic bamboo raft down the river for an unforgettable journey of vivid impressions.

If you are out for more local flavours, try elephant trekking – an all-time favourite activity of Khao Sok visitors. We assure you, you will be impressed by the grace and elegance of these sacred animals. The trek will take you down the crystal stream and stop at the waterfall to enjoy the beauty of the aquatic world in its tropical splendour. Relax by the waterfall, go for a swim in its cooling crystal waters, or enjoy a snack and offer a bite to your elephant partner, then pose for pictures together before you continue your journey.

For the best experience of the area, stay overnight at the stunningly beautiful Cheow Lan Lake. The Lake tour offers both food and accommodation for all tourists. Cheow Lan Lake is an essential part of Khao Sok national park. The lake keeps many secrets at its bottom. Mysteries will be revealed, if you dare to dive 150 meters deep to discover Thai villages, a temple, a school and other hidden treasures of the underwater settlement. No wonder the lake is divers' paradise!

About 30 years ago the government ordered the settlement here be submerged, creating a new lake. It is not the only lake of this origin, and you can learn the history of this settlement when you visit. You can also enjoy the spectacular surrounds of Cheow Larn Lake, encircled as it is by a chain of soaring mountains more than a kilometre high. The place is rich in mystic caves, picturesque grottoes and stalactites of most bizarre forms.

Do not miss the chance to dive into Khao Sok wilderness and reveal its secrets. It is an amazing place to experience, so we are sure you will absolutely love it.
